FC Goa clinch third Super Cup following penalty shootout

Fatorda (Goa), Dec 8 (UNI) FC Goa were crowned champions of the AIFF Super Cup for a record third time after edging East Bengal FC 6–5 in a tense penalty shootout in the 2025–26 final at the PJN Stadium.
The title clash, which ended goalless even after extra time, became the first Super Cup final to be decided on penalties.
According to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) website, both teams created a flurry of chances across 120 minutes but failed to break the deadlock. In the shootout, FC Goa captain Borja Herrera and East Bengal’s Mohamad Basim Rashid were the only players to miss among the first ten attempts, sending the contest into sudden death.
