FDA seizes banned flavoured tobacco worth Rs 9.71 crore in Maharashtra

Nashik, Dec 11 (UNI) In Nashik district, a special flying squad of the FDA seized a stock of banned flavoured tobacco and gutkha worth approximately Rs 9.71 crore. Cases have been registered against 11 people under the Food Safety Act in this regard.
The seized stock is valued at approximately Rs 9,71,02,365, and cases have been registered against 11 individuals under the Indian Penal Code and the Food Safety Act.
The operation was conducted by a special team under the guidance of Nashik Divisional Joint Commissioner (Food) Manish Sanap and Special Squad Head Yadurai Dahatonde, along with Assistant Commissioner (Food) Bhandara, and included officers Gajanan Gore, Ashok Ilager, and Food Safety Officers, as well as the Nashik divisional team comprising Vinod Dhawad (Assistant Commissioner Food), Gopal Kasar, and Govind Gaikwad, Food Safety Officers.
