Fifteen arrested in Rs 3.90 cr Dharani-Bhu Bharati scam; cash, documents & gadgets seized

Jangaon, Jan 16 (UNI) Jangaon police have arrested 15 members of a gang involved in an alleged Rs 3.90-crore scam linked to Dharani and Bhu Bharati registrations in Jangaon and Yadadri districts, which reportedly caused heavy loss to government revenue.
Nine other accused are absconding, police said.
Police seized Rs 63.19 lakh in cash, Rs 1 lakh from a bank account, property documents worth about Rs 1 crore, a car, laptops, desktop computers and mobile phones from the accused.

IIT-Madras, Finnish Met Institute to launch Advanced Research Centre

Chennai, Feb 16 (UNI) The Indian Institute of Technology-Madras (IIT-M) is partnership with Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) to create a knowledge hub ‘VAYYU’--the Virtual Research Centre (VRC) on Aerosol–Meteorology Interactions, Himalayan Atmosphere-Cryosphere interactions, and Urban Air.
The new VRC will focus on advanced simulations and state-of-the-art observations to better understand how aerosols influence regional hydro-climate, Himalayan snow and glacier melting and Air Quality in Indian megacities and beyond.
