FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup: India lose 1-5 to Germany

Chennai, Dec 7(UNI) Indian Junior Men's Hockey Team registered a humiliating 1-5 loss against defending champions Germany in the Semifinal of the FIH Hockey Men's Junior World Cup Tamil Nadu 2025 here on Sunday.
Anmol Ekka (51') scored for India while Lukas Kossel (14', 30'), Titus Wex (15'), Jonas von Gersum (40') and Ben Hasbach (49') were the goalscorers for Germany.
Germany started the first quarter strong, as they were aggressive in their press, forcing India to play in their own half. India initially did well to sustain the pressure and build from the back however, they couldn't create a clear opportunity on goal. In the third minute itself, Germany were through on goal as Justus Warweg made a strong interception in a dangerous area however, Indian goalkeeper Princedeep Singh did well to step out and make an incredible save early on.

2029 Asian Winter Games in Saudi Arabia postponed

Riyadh, Jan. 24 (UNI) The 2029 Asian Winter Games in Saudi Arabia have been postponed, the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) announced on Saturday.
In a joint statement, the two organizations said they had agreed on "an updated framework for future hosting" following extensive consultations. No new date was announced, with a revised timeline to be confirmed later.

China finishes runner-up in AFC U23 Asian Cup

Jeddah, Jan. 24 (UNI) China missed the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup title after losing to defending champion Japan 4-0 in the final on Saturday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
China reached the final for the first time after defeating Vietnam 3-0 in Tuesday's semifinals.
