Fire in Mumbai film city on set of  TV serial, no injury reported

Mumbai, June 23 (UNI) A massive fire broke out on Monday morning on a TV serial set in the Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagari, popularly known as Film City, in Goregaon area of Mumbai suburb with no injury being reported. The All Indian Cine Workers Association has demanded a high-level investigation into the matter.
According to a fire bridge official, the fire broke out in Anupama studio located at Film City Road, Whistling Woods International, Film City Complex, Goregaon at 6.10 am.
The fire was confined to electric wiring. However, it spread to electric installation, plastic materials, iron and decorative materials, cameras, costumes, lighting system and studio equipment in the 5,000 sq ft area of the studio.
Four fire engines were engaged to control the fire which was extinguished around 10.15 am .
All Indian Cine Workers Association took to their X account to shed light on the matter and at the same time, demanded a high-level investigation into the matter.
AICWA mentioned in their tweet that the major fire completely destroyed the set. It took place two hours before the scheduled shoot that was to begin at 7 am. It was also mentioned that the preparations for the day’s filming were already underway when the fire erupted. Moreover, at the time of the incident, several workers and crew members were present on the floor. However, casualties have not been reported.
While the Anupamaa set was destroyed, several adjoining sets narrowly escaped the flames. "This could have led to an even greater disaster," said Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, president of the All Indian Cine Workers Association, in a statement.
He appealed to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, to order a high-level judicial inquiry into the fire incident.
