Bhubaneswar, Jan 24 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and former union Minister Srikant Jena on Saturday expressed concern over the union Government’s claim of conducting a caste census in Census 2027, citing serious limitations in the recently issued questionnaire.
In a statement, Jena referred to the January 22 notification issued by the Registrar General of India, which prescribes the questions for the first phase of Census 2027.
He pointed out that Question 12 restricts caste-related information to whether the head of the household belongs to the Scheduled Caste, the Scheduled Tribe, or “Other.”
