Four killed, three injured as iron poles fall on autorickshaws in Telangana

Warangal (Telangana), Jan 26 (UNI) Four people lost their lives, and three others were injured when iron poles fell from a lorry onto two autorickshaws near Mamnuru 4th Battalion on the Warangal-Khammam National Highway on Sunday.

The mishap occurred due to the snapping of wires that were securing the iron poles, police said.

The autorickshaws were carrying seven passengers at the time of the accident.

The deceased were identified as residents of Lalith Nagar in the Bhopal district of Madhya Pradesh.

The injured were rushed to a government hospital for treatment.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and conveyed his shock over the tragic accident.

The Chief Minister directed the District Collector and senior police officials to ensure immediate medical assistance for the injured and to take all necessary measures to prevent such accidents in the future.
