France, Poland sign treaty to deepen ties

Paris, May 10 (UNI) French President Emmanuel Macron and visiting Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Friday signed a treaty of friendship in Nancy, northeastern France, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in areas such as defense and energy.
At a press conference following the signing, Macron said that the two countries will enhance defense cooperation and fight "foreign interference, cyber-attacks," among others.
Tusk said that the treaty includes a mutual defense clause, while Macron noted that France's nuclear deployment has "a European component."
