Chennai, May 10 (UNI) For the first time a Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu took the oath not in the traditional Tamil attire of Dhoti and shirt but dressed in black pants, a white full-sleeved shirt, and a black blazer indicating the generational change in politics and the changing dress code of netas.
Indeed, this is a break from tradition and Vijay has done that. Former Chief Ministers, from freedom fighter-statesman Rajaji
(C Rajagopalachari) to the late DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS) all presented themselves as dhoti clad. Even Stalin initially sported a dhoti, without the graceful long towel on shoulders, unlike his father.
