G7 Summit in Canada to be held from June 15-17: Reports

Ottawa, Jan 14 (UNI) The G7 summit will be held from June 15-17 in Canada’s Kananaskis, the CBC News broadcaster reported.
The event will be attended by the leaders of the United States, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, Italy and Canada, as well as the European Union, the report said on Monday, adding that those responsible for holding the summit have not yet provided details.
In 2002, Kananaskis hosted the summit of the Group of Eight (G8), when Russia was part of the union before it was excluded in 2014.
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly has said earlier that Canada, as the chairman of the Group of Seven, plans to work on issues of maritime security, the fight against sanctions circumvention, the "shadow fleet" and the protection of underwater infrastructure.
