GT Deve Gowda rules out exit from JDS, says dedicated to constituency development

Mysuru, Jan 19 (UNI) Janata Dal (Secular) MLA GT Deve Gowda on Monday asserted that he would contest the next Karnataka Assembly election from the Chamundeshwari constituency as the JDS candidate, firmly rejecting claims by former minister SA Ramdas Mahesh that he would be the party's nominee from the seat.
Speaking to reporters here, Deve Gowda said he had neither quit the JDS nor indulged in any anti-party activity, and made it clear that there was no question of him stepping aside from Chamundeshwari. "I am very much in the JDS and will continue in the party. I have never spoken against the party or its senior leaders," he said.
Reacting to Mahesh's statement that he would contest from Chamundeshwari, Deve Gowda said such claims were baseless and misleading. He underlined his long association with the JDS, stating that he had grown politically under the leadership of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and had remained loyal to the party throughout his career.
