Hamirpur district boosts Women’s SHGs through market access and digital platforms

Hamirpur, Jan 23 (UNI) To strengthen the economic empowerment of women’s self-help groups (SHGs) in Hamirpur, the district administration and the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) are taking targeted initiatives to motivate and expand their businesses.
Presiding over a meeting of SHGs at the DRDA hall on Thursday, ADC Abhishek Garg said special arrangements have been made at Him Era Shops and Gramin Haats for the sale of products made by women entrepreneurs. Exhibitions and dedicated stalls have also been set up at Him Era Shops in Dang Kwali and Deotsidh in Hamirpur city.
The ADC instructed the officials of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) to upload the products of all self-help groups on online platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Amazon, and Flipkart within a week. He set a target to get the lab testing and food safety licenses for these products done on a priority basis. He said that the machinery available in the Integrated Farming Cluster should also be utilized.
