Haryana: Five arrested in 2 separate cyber fraud cases in Gurugram

Panchkula, Jun 15 (UNI) The Haryana Police has arrested five people, including two women, in two separate cases of alleged cyber fraud in Gurugram, including one accused who allegedly provided his bank account to a cyber fraud syndicate and four others involved in a scam that duped a victim on the pretext of increasing his credit card limit.
In the first case, the Cyber Crime Police Station (East), Gurugram, arrested Nitin Jain, a resident of Bhopal district in Madhya Pradesh, for allegedly providing his bank account to cyber criminals who used it to route proceeds of a Rs ₹ 3.75 lakh fraud.
According to police, a victim had lodged a complaint alleging that cyber fraudsters induced him to transfer money into multiple bank accounts on false pretexts. During the investigation, police found that ₹3.05 lakh of the cheated amount had been transferred to a bank account registered in the name of the accused. Nitin Jain was arrested on June 15 and allegedly revealed during questioning that he had handed over the use of his bank account to another person in exchange for ₹10,000.
