Haryana: Truck rams into mutliple vehicles, 5 killed

Chandigarh, Nov 14 (UNI) Five persons were killed and a few ||others injured when a truck driver, allegedly drunk, rammed into many vehicles in Haryana's Panipat on Thursday, police said.
According to police, the truck coming from New Delhi to Chandigarh entered a flyover from the wrong side. The truck first hit a car after breaking the grill of the flyover. Later, it went on to hit a bike on the Sivah bridge and yet another bike opposite Malik petrol pump. After that the truck also hit a bike opposite a Gurudwara.
Locals caught the driver and handed him over to the police. UNI GS SSP

Himachal HC admits PIL challenging commercial use of Thodo Ground by Solan MC

Shimla, Nov 17 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday admitted a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) alleging unchecked commercial use of the historic Thodo Ground in Solan by the Solan Municipal Corporation.
The petition, filed by local residents led by Kushal Jethi, asserts that the ground, traditionally reserved for community and recreational activities, is being diverted for profit-oriented events in violation of its public character.
