Head Constable held for taking Rs 50,000 bribe in Gurugram

Chandigarh, June 11 (UNI) A head constable posted at the Women Police Station in Manesar, Gurugram, was arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, the Haryana State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB) said on Thursday.
According to officials, the accused, identified as Head Constable Kavita, was caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the bureau's Gurugram unit. Further investigation into the case is underway.
The action followed a complaint submitted to the Anti-Corruption Bureau by a man who alleged that his wife had lodged an FIR against him and his family members at the Women Police Station, Manesar. The complainant alleged that the investigating officer, Head Constable Kavita, demanded Rs 50,000 in exchange for removing the names of his brothers, Balram and Mukesh, from the case.

Centre notifies Drugs Rules, 2026; alcohol-based mouthwashes above 30 ml to lose Schedule K

Panchkula, Jul 10 (UNI) The Centre has notified the Drugs (Tenth Amendment) Rules, 2026, amending the Drugs Rules, 1945, to withdraw the exemption available under Schedule K for mouthwash preparations containing more than 12 per cent ethyl alcohol (v/v) packed and sold in bottles or packs exceeding 30 ml.
