Heavy rains and clouburst in Himachal lead to floods & landslides

Shimla, Aug 14 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh has been witnessing multiple cloudburst and extremely heavy rains since last night, triggering flash floods, landslides, and widespread damage across several districts, government sources said.
Most rivers are flowing above the danger levels, prompting evacuations and road closures. A cloudburst in the hills behind Khaltunala of Kotkhai brought massive debris into a drain at around 3 am yesterday, burying more than six vehicles and half of a petrol pump. The employees on duty escaped unhurt after fleeing on time.
Another cloudburst washed away two sheds, flooded six others, and left a police post in the danger zone in Rampur's Ganvi area. Several houses were silted, and the bridge of the Ganvi Hydroelectric Project collapsed, snapping road connectivity to over 10 villages.
