Heroin and meth seized in multiple operations across Mizoram; five arrested

Aizawl, June 20 (UNI) The Mizoram Excise & Narcotics Department has seized large quantities of heroin and methamphetamine in four separate operations over the past two days, arresting a total of seven individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking.
According to Peter Zohmingthanga, spokesperson of the Excise & Narcotics Department, the most recent operation took place at 3:30 pm on June 19 (Thursday) at Phainuam, Saihapui ‘K’ Road in Kolasib district.
Officials recovered 2.502 kg of heroin, hidden in approximately 220 soap cases from Lalramtiam (30) of Tahan ‘F’ Group, Myanmar, and Lalremruata (34), of Zemabawk, Aizawl. The consignment was allegedly meant for sale outside Mizoram.
