Himachal: Educational institution to remain close in Banjar & Manali tomorrow

Shimla, Jan 24 (UNI) All educational institutions in the Banjar and Manali sub-divisions of Kullu district would remain closed on January 24, in view of continuous heavy snowfall and hazardous travel conditions.
The order was issued by Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Kullu, Torul S. Raveesh, under Sections 30 and 34(m) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005. It applies to all government and private institutions, including schools, colleges, ITIs, polytechnics, engineering and pharmacy colleges, DIETs, and Anganwadi centres.
The administration stated that several areas have become snowbound, disrupting normal movement and posing risks to the safety of students and staff.

Double-Decker bus overturns in Shahjahanpur, injures several

Shahjahanpur, Feb 10 (UNI) Panic broke out among passengers after a double-decker bus overturned early Tuesday morning in the Khutar police station area of Shahjahanpur district. The accident occurred around 6 am on the Puranpur Road near Navadiya Manikant village, when the bus lost control and veered off the road before overturning.
