Hit-and-run: Shiv Sena removes Shah from deputy leader’s post

Mumbai, July 10 (UNI) The Shiv Sena on Wednesday removed Rajesh Shah, father of Mihir Shah, an accused in Worli hit-and-run case, from the post of Deputy Leader of the party.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde approved the issuing of order on Shah’s removal from the post after the Opposition raised the issue in Assembly.

Mihir Shah had hit two people while driving a car at a high speed in Mumbai's Worli area on Sunday morning. Kaveri Nakhwa died on the spot in the accident while her husband was injured.

After the incident, the Opposition criticised the grand alliance government.

Mihir, who was arrested on Tuesday, had consumed alcohol in a bar in Juhu hours before the accident took place, alleged the Opposition.

Illegal portions of the bar in Juhu were demolished on Wednesday.
