Host of Trinamool leaders lash out against party after Bengal defeat, even Mamata not spared

Kolkata, May 11 (UNI) A large number of Trinamool Congress (TMC) functionaries from various levels of the organisation and the government have started speaking openly against the leadership, including party chairperson Mamata Banerjee and her nephew Abhishek Banerjee, who is also the party’s National General Secretary, after the BJP swept the Bengal elections.
The TMC has suspended several of its spokespersons, including Kohinoor Majumdar, Riju Dutta and Kartik Ghosh, for six years on charges of anti-party activities. The party also slapped show-cause notices on veteran leader from Malda Krishnendu Narayan Chowdhury and former Minister Rabindranath Ghosh's daughter and youth leader Papiya Ghosh, asking them to explain their conduct within 24 hours.
The widespread internal dissent came to the fore after these functionaries started questioning the policies of the party and the conduct of its leaders as well as party workers.
