HP Govt extends power subsidy to Rs 1555 cr by levying milk cess

Shimla, Mar 26 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Government has introduced a nominal milk cess of 10 paise per unit on electricity consumers, along with an environment cess for industrial power users.
Despite these new impositions, the state government assured that domestic consumers would not be impacted, as they continue to receive subsidies to ensure free power supply.
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, responding to a query from Bhuneshwar Goar, clarified that the government had allocated Rs. 1555 crore to the state electricity board to maintain the free power scheme for domestic users.

RSS leader’s grandson shot dead in Firozpur; probe underway as extremist group claims responsibility

Chandigarh, Nov 16 (UNI) An RSS leader’s grandson was shot dead in Punjab’s Firozpur district on Friday, in what police suspect to be a targeted killing. The man was attacked in the busy Mochi Bazaar area while he was on his way to pick up his children from school. Two assailants approached him from behind and fired at his head, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Chandigarh PCA orders inquiry into IPS officers named in expanding online betting probe
