HP HC seeks govt response on alleged nexus between stone crushers and officials

Shimla, Oct 16 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh High Court has sought a detailed response from the officials of the S S Sukhu government in a case alleging collusion between stone crusher operators and government officials in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh (BBN) industrial belt of Solan district.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhewalia and Justice Zia Lal Bhardwaj issued the directive while hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Krishan Kumar, a resident of Malpur village in Baddi.
The court has directed the concerned departments to take appropriate action within a week and submit their replies before the next hearing. Notices have also been issued to other respondents in the case.

CM Sukhu reviews tourism projects; Rs 460 cr disbursed for Kangra Airport expansion

Shimla, Nov 7 (UNI) Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today reviewed various ongoing tourism projects of the Tourism Department and said that land awards worth Rs 460 crore have been released and disbursed to beneficiaries towards land acquisition for the expansion of Kangra Airport. Awards amounting to another Rs 1,899 crore are ready for disbursement, he added. .
