HPSEBL employees union flags rising electrical accidents, seeks stronger safety measures

Shimla, May 12 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Employees union on Tuesday expressed serious concern over the increasing number of fatal and non-fatal electrical accidents involving field staff and urged the management to strengthen safety measures.
A delegation of the union led by general secretary Prashant Sharma met Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), Chairman, Prabodh Saxena and highlighted the growing number of accidents involving board employees and outsourced workers.
The union informed the chairman that a young employee, Mohan Lal (32), posted under the Palampur Electrical Division, recently lost his life while working on an 11 KV power line.
