HPU Dharamshala Hosts National Conference on Interdisciplinary Advances in Mathematics and Economics

Dharamshala, June 10 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh University Regional Centre, Dharamshala, organized a two-day PM-USHA-funded national conference on “Interdisciplinary Advances in Mathematics and Economics: Applications and Challenges,” jointly hosted by the Departments of Mathematics and Economics.
IPS officer and DIG Northern Range, Dharamshala, Soumya Sambashivan, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest. Welcoming the guests, participants, and research scholars, Regional Centre Director Prof. Kuldeep Kumar Atri highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary research in addressing contemporary challenges.
Conference Coordinator Dr. Tilak Raj Sharma of the Mathematics Department informed that around 350 participants registered for the event, while 127 research papers were presented. More than 220 students from various colleges and institutions across India and abroad participated in the conference.

Panchkula, July 21 (UNI) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall across several parts of North India over the next few days, with Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh likely to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.

Panchkula, July 21 (UNI) More than Rs 16,600 crore is lying in inoperative Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) accounts and in unclaimed policyholder funds and accrued income with the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), prompting efforts to identify beneficiaries and facilitate settlement of money due to employees, former workers, policyholders and their eligible claimants.

Centre scales up metro push; Gurugram corridor

Panchkula, July 21 (UNI) The centre has stepped up investments in urban mass transit, with about 1,159 km of metro rail and regional rapid transit system (RRTS) networks now operational across 26 cities, while 30 metro projects are at various stages of implementation, including the 28.5-km Gurugram Metro corridor in Haryana.
