Hyd: GHIAL acquires major stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park Pvt Ltd

Hyderabad, July 10 (UNI) GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), a subsidiary of GMR Airports Limited, today announced the acquisition of a 70 percent stake in ESR GMR Logistics Park Private Limited (EGLPPL).
GHAL, a wholly owned subsidiary of GHIAL, already owns the remaining 30 percent in EGLPPL, the airport said in a release here.
EGLPPL was initially formed as a joint venture between GHAL and ESR Hyderabad 1 Pte. Ltd. on January 8, 2020, for the development of warehousing and logistics parks in Hyderabad.
The company has developed around 1.7 million square feet of industrial and logistics infrastructure.
With this strategic acquisition, GHIAL by itself and through GHAL now owns 100 percent of EGLPPL, making it a wholly owned subsidiary of the company.
This move is a significant step forward in GHAL’s long-term vision to accelerate its Airport Land Development (ALD) strategy in Hyderabad.

Speaking on the agreement, Pradeep Panicker, CEO, GHIAL said, “This acquisition marks a pivotal advancement in our vision to transform Hyderabad Airport into a vibrant hub for integrated logistics and industrial development. With GMR Hyderabad Aerotropolis Ltd. already holding the remaining 30% stake, this consolidation enables us to fully integrate EGLPPL into our long-term Airport Land Development strategy.
"Hyderabad Airport was envisioned not just as an aviation gateway, but as the catalyst for a thriving Aerotropolis — a future-forward ecosystem designed to enhance connectivity, boost economic activity, and drive holistic regional development. This acquisition, positions us to explore new growth opportunities, strengthen the airport’s ecosystem, and deliver enhanced value to our stakeholders.”
Commenting on the development, Aman Kapoor, CEO, Airport Land Development, GMR Group said, “ The successful acquisition of ESR GMR Logistics Park marks a pivotal moment in our journey to build a world class airport-led industrial and logistics ecosystem.
