Hyderabad Jewellery Pearl & Gem Fair 2026 begins at HITEX

Hyderabad, May 8 (UNI) The three-day 18th edition of the Hyderabad Jewellery Pearl & Gem Fair (HJF) 2026, organised by Informa Markets India, commenced at the HITEX Exhibition Centre here on Friday..
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Yogesh Mudras, Managing Director of Informa Markets India, said the 18th edition of HJF is the largest-ever edition of the exhibition, bringing together leading industry experts, exhibitors and jewellery brands from across the country.
He said the event, first launched in 2006 under UBM, has grown significantly over the years and now features more than 350 exhibitors, 750-plus brands and is expected to attract over 7,000 trade visitors during the three-day expo
Mudras said India’s jewellery industry, currently valued at around USD 85 billion, is expected to reach nearly USD 130 billion by 2030, with South India contributing nearly 45 per cent of the country’s gold consumption.
Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala remain key markets driving the sector’s growth, he added.
The exhibition showcases gold, diamond, silver and gemstone jewellery along with the latest machinery and technologies in the jewellery sector.
Several new initiatives have been introduced this year, including a CAD Design Pavilion, a dedicated machinery pavilion, a Mumbai pavilion connecting manufacturers with South Indian buyers and an Artisan Zone celebrating the silver filigree craftsmanship of Karimnagar.
For the first time, the event is also hosting a Jewellery Retail Symposium featuring more than 20 industry leaders participating in panel discussions on emerging retail trends and the future of the jewellery industry.
The exhibition will also feature “Legends of South” awards, onsite podcasts with industry leaders and the “Shakti Awards” recognising women achievers in the jewellery sector.
Celebrity and Indian film actress Ivana Varun said jewellery carries emotion, craftsmanship and creativity, and praised the exhibition for bringing together outstanding talent and innovation under one roof.
Jagadish Prasad Varma, President of the Telangana Jewellers and Gem Jewellery Association, said the exhibition reflects the rapid growth of Telangana’s jewellery sector and has brought together exhibitors from states including Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Rajkot.
He said Hyderabad’s jewellery market has expanded significantly over the past decade, with major showrooms spread across the city from HITEC City to Dilsukhnagar and Lingampally.
Paul J Alukkas, Director of the Joyalukkas Group, said the exhibition offers an excellent platform for retailers and buyers to explore new collections ahead of the upcoming wedding season.
Ashish Pathe from Product Development, India, Aditya Birla Group, Mahender Kumar Tayal, President of Hyderabad Jewellery Manufacturers Association (HJMA), Mukesh Agarwal, Exhibition Convenor of HJMA, and other industry representatives participated in the inaugural programme.

Govt extends CGSMFI-2 0, enhances loan limit for large NBFC-MFIs
