ICC issues arrest warrants for two Russian officials

Moscow, June 25 (UNI) Judges on the International Criminal Court (ICC) have issued arrest warrants for Russia's former defence minister Sergei Shoigu and former chief of staff Valery Gerasimov, the court said in a statement on Tuesday.
The arrest warrants were issued on Monday "in the context of the situation in Ukraine for alleged international crimes committed from at least October 10, 2022, until March 9, 2023," said the ICC statement.
The Russian Security Council has said that the ICC decision is void, Russia's Sputnik news agency reported on Tuesday.
