Illegal property worth Rs 1.34 crore seized in Sirmaur, drug mafia's earnings curtailed

Nahan(HP), Oct 15 (UNI) Fulfilling the Himachal Pradesh government's commitment to a drug-free society, the Sirmaur Police has achieved a major success against the illegal drug trade and also seized illegal assets linked to drug trade.
Police confirmed the seizure of illegally acquired property worth about Rs 1.35 crore during a financial investigation. This action is the result of an investigation conducted by a special team led by DSP Headquarters Ramakant Thakur.
The case falls under the jurisdiction of the Paonta Sahib police station, where 40.32 grams of heroin was recovered from Sanjay Kumar alias Sanju, son of Mangat Ram, resident of Devi Nagar, in 2017. A case was registered against the accused under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, 1985. Investigation revealed that the accused was repeatedly involved in the drug trade. Subsequently, the police took action under the NDPS Act and sent him to the Model Central Jail, Nahan, for three months.
