Increase in jute MSP will benefit Bihar farmers: Minister

Patna, Jan 22 (UNI) Bihar Agriculture Minister Mangal Pandey on Wednesday said the Narendra Modi government's decision to increase Minimum Support Price (MSP) of jute will prove to be beneficial for a large number of farmers of Bihar.
Pandey said the Modi government has fixed the MSP of jute at Rs 5,650 for the season 2025-26 which was an increase of Rs 315 over the previous year. A large number of farmers engaged in cultivation of jute in Araria, Purnia, Kishanganj, Katihar and Mithila regions of Bihar would get immense benefits from the increase in MSP of jute. During the last 10 years, the MSP had increased by two and half times, he pointed out.
The Minister said the NDA Government in Bihar had taken a number of steps to improve the condition of farmers by rolling out agriculture road maps for different periods in last one and half decade.
