India, GCC hold talks on implementing joint action plan

Riyadh/New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) India and the six-member Gulf Cooperation Council held their political dialogue in Riyadh today, during which the two sides discussed implementation of the India-GCC Joint Action Plan including cooperation in the areas of security, trade, investment and energy.
Arun Kumar Chatterjee, Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, held the dialogue with Dr. Abdulaziz Aluwaisheg, Assistant Secretary General at the GCC Secretariat General.
They also discussed regional and international issues of mutual interest. The GCC said in a statement that the two sides met at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Riyadh. “During the meeting, Dr Aluwaisheg discussed ways to strengthen relations with the Republic of India, activate the joint action plan, and regional and international issues of common interest.”
