Indian nationals trafficked, enslaved at Myanmar–Thailand border: Owaisi

Hyderabad, Jan 22 (UNI) At least 16 Indian nationals, including three Hyderabad youths, have been lured with promises of jobs in Thailand and subsequently taken captive at the Myanmar–Thailand border in slave-like conditions, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi claimed on Thursday.
Taking to his 'X' handle, Owaisi said, according to information received from one of the victims, Mir Sajjad Ali, a resident of Osman Nagar, Hyderabad, the group is being compelled to work 18–20 hours a day, subjected to physical abuse, and denied basic medical care.
Their passports and mobile phones have been confiscated, effectively cutting them off from the outside world, he said
