INS Sudarshini sets sail on ‘Lokayan 26’, showcasing India’s maritime heritage

Kochi, Jan 21 (UNI) The Indian Navy’s sail training ship INS Sudarshini embarked on a historic global voyage with the flag-off of ‘Lokayan 26’, a ten-month-long transoceanic sailing expedition, from the Southern Naval Command in Kochi.
The landmark voyage underscores India’s rich seafaring heritage and reflects the Indian Navy’s commitment to professional training, maritime excellence and global engagement.
Conceived in the spirit of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and guided by the vision of MAHASAGAR, Lokayan 26 aims to build enduring bonds of cooperation, trust and friendship across oceans and continents. The expedition is seen as a strong symbol of India’s growing role and responsibility in global maritime affairs.
