Iran asks IAEA to clarify stance over June strikes by US-Israel on nuclear sites before granting access

Tehran, Jan 23 (UNI) Iran has said that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) must first provide clarification regarding its position concerning the airstrikes conducted against Tehran's nuclear infrastructure, back in June last year by the US and Israel, before Tehran greenlights access to the damaged sites to its inspectors, according to comments by head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organisation Md Eslami.
The Iranian nuclear chief, in response to earlier comments made by IAEA chief Rafael Grossi, who said that the impasse over inspections "cannot go on forever", said that all of IAEA's inspections to date had been limited to facilities that were not hit during the attacks, and accused the UN nuclear watchdog of acting under political pressure from state enemies.
Eslami further criticised Grossi for failing to explicitly condemn the strikes or outline a clear framework for inspecting sites that were bombed.
