Iran govt reviewing latest US peace proposal; Trump threatens high intensity strikes in case of no peace deal

Tehran/Washington, May 6 (UNI) Iran's government is reviewing the latest US peace proposal, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei in a statement to the country's ISNA news agency today, and noted that the Islamic Republic would convey its position on the proposal to Pakistani intermediaries after finalising its response.
President Donald Trump had earlier in day warned, in a Truth Social post, that Iran would face American strikes "at a much higher level and intensity" unless it "agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption".
So far, neither the authorities in Washington or Tehran, nor the mediators in Islamabad have confirmed any details on carrying out talks on the latest iteration of the peace proposal, which is the result of weeks of back-and-forth negotiating led by Islamabad.
