Iran, Russia & China go to IAEA seeking ban on attacks on N-sites

Tehran, Sep 16 (UNI) Iran, Russia, Belarus, China, Venezuela, and Nicaragua have submitted a draft resolution to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) calling for a ban on any attacks or threats against safeguarded nuclear sites.
The move was announced by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei, who posted a screenshot of the resolution and wrote: "To defend the integrity of the NPT, Iran along with China, Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Belarus have submitted a draft resolution on "Prohibition of all forms of attack and threats of attack against nuclear sites and facilities under #IAEA safeguards".
"As our draft reconfirms, all countries enjoy 'inalienable right to develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes' and are 'entitled to effective guarantees against any attack or threat of attack.'"
