J&K govt forms panel to probe Gondola breakdown at Gulmarg

Srinagar, June 10 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday constituted a high-level committee to probe the technical malfunction of the Gondola service at famous resort of Gulmarg that left nearly 300 tourists stranded mid-air for several hours last month.
According to Government, the committee has been tasked with enquiring into the circumstances leading to the malfunction of the Gulmarg Gondola on May 25. The committee has been asked to submit its report with findings and recommendations to the Tourism Department within 10 days from the issuance of the order.
The committee will be headed by Managing Director of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Mahmood Ahmad Shah and includes Director Tourism Jammu Vikas Gupta, Chief Executive Officer Gulmarg Development Authority Tariq Hussain, Incharge Superintending Engineer Mechanical & Hospital Circle Kashmir Javeed Ahmad Tantray, and Executive Engineer Mechanical & Hospital Division Baramulla Mohammad Ismail Chechi.
