J&K to see mainly dry weather, light snow likely over North Kashmir heights

Srinagar, Oct 17 (UNI) The Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness mainly dry weather conditions over the next several days, with only a brief spell of very light snowfall expected over isolated higher reaches of north Kashmir during the coming week.
According to the MeT forecast, generally dry weather is expected across the union Territory on October 17, 19, and 20. The weather may turn partly to generally cloudy during the afternoon or evening hours on October 18 and 21.
On October 21, there is a possibility of a brief spell of very light snow over isolated higher reaches of north Kashmir, the forecast said.

Five injured as car chase ends in fierce shooting at Punjab’s Banga bus stand

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) In a major security scare in Punjab’s Nawanshahr district, a high-speed car chase ended in a burst of gunfire at the Banga bus stand on Monday. According to local shopkeepers, two vehicles were seen speeding into the market area, a Scorpio being chased by another car, believed to be an i-20. As soon as the vehicles approached the bus stand, occupants of the second car reportedly opened indiscriminate fire.
