Jairam Ramesh slams PM Modi’s silence on Trump’s claims over India-Russia oil deal

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) Congress MP Jairam Ramesh today sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for remaining silent amid repeated public statements by US President Donald Trump concerning India’s purchase of Russian oil.
In a pointed post on X, Ramesh highlighted what he called a worrying pattern of silence from the Prime Minister on key international issues raised by Trump.
“In the last four to five months, President Trump has claimed 52 times that he stopped Operation Sindoor. He met Pakistan’s Prime Minister twice, yet our Prime Minister remained silent. He met their Field Marshal twice, yet our Prime Minister remained silent. Now, Trump has said twice that India will not buy oil from Russia... Why is the Prime Minister, who talks about everything else in the world, silent on these matters?” Ramesh questioned.
