Jammu: Bank employee booked for duping candidates by promising jobs

Jammu, Jan 22 (UNI) The Jammu Crime Branch has booked six persons including a J&K Bank employee for duping 15 candidates of Rs. 1.34 crores on the pretext of providing jobs in Territorial Army and J&K Bank, an official communique said on Wednesday.
The comminique said two written complaints with the same contents were received in the Crime Branch wherein the complainants namely Jugal Kumar of Village Shahzad Pur, Ramgarh Samba and Gopal Chand of Village Rajpur Jatan Tehsil Ramgarh District Samba and others alleged that Tarsem Singh and Balbir Singh, both residents of Dhyansar Ward Number 2, Bari Brahmana, District Samba fraudulently told the complainants about the vacancies in sports category in Territorial Army and also demanded money from them and the complainants transferred amount through cheques, online and cash modes in their favour as per their demand.
Thereafter, the above-mentioned persons prepared fake call letters purported to be related to the joining of the complainants in the Territorial Army and also put the fake signatures and stamps of senior officers. When the complainants went for their joining as per the joining letters, they were not allowed to join and then they realised that fraud was committed with them, it read.
