Javed Akhtar writes emotional birthday message for daughter Zoya Akhtar

New Delhi, Oct 14 (UNI) Veteran screenwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar wrote an emotional message for his daughter, celebrated filmmaker Zoya Akhtar, on her birthday, capturing the emotions of a proud father.
Taking to social media, Javed wrote, “Happy birthday Zoya dearest. How vividly I remember the day you were born. What a strange feeling it was when this baby was given in my arms.”
“You looked at me without much focus and then suddenly broke into a toothless smile. At that instance, it was decided that a father’s deep love for his daughter will remain forever and ever,” he added.
Javed Akhtar was first married to Honey Irani, with whom he shares two children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. In 1984, he tied the knot with National Award-winning actress Shabana Azmi.
Zoya, following in her father’s creative footsteps, pursued a diploma in filmmaking from New York University (NYU).
Before venturing into direction, she honed her craft by assisting renowned filmmakers such as Mira Nair, Tony Gerber, and Dev Benegal.
She made her directorial debut in 2009 with the drama Luck by Chance, but it was her 2011 comedy-drama Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara that established her as one of Bollywood’s most talented and visionary directors.
Zoya, who is loved for her distinctive storytelling and box office hits such as Dil Dhadakne Do, and Gully Boy, is still one of Bollywood's most acclaimed directors.
Fans and celebrities filled the comment section with birthday greetings for the director, while several others congratulated Javed Akhtar on his emotional tribute that truly depicted the relationship between a father and daughter.
