JSW Soorma Hockey Club register first win; beat HIL GC 3-1

Ranchi, Jan 15 (UNI): JSW Soorma Hockey Club registered their first victory in the Hero Hockey India League 2026 (Men's) as they beat HIL Governing Council (GC) 3-1 in a comfortable fashion here at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Astro Turf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi on Thursday.
A double by the captain Harmanpreet Singh (15', 38') and a goal by Gurjant Singh (27') saw their team through. Meanwhile Kane Russell scored the lone goal for HIL GC, equaling Tom Boon's total of 10 goals as top scorers in the league so far. Despite the loss, HIL GC continues to remain in the top two of the points table.

Kuala Lumpur, Feb 13 (UNI) India were drawn with Japan, Australia and Lebanon in Group B of the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup China 2026 in the Final Draw held at the AFC House here in Malaysia.
Having qualified for the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup for the first time in 21 years after defeating Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan, the Young Tigresses will begin their campaign against Australia, followed by Japan and Lebanon.

Manavgat (Turkey), Feb 13 (UNI) The India U17 men's team lost 1-6 to Turkiye in their second friendly match against the hosts at the Manavgat Ataturk Stadium here in Antalya.
India had lost 0-1 in the first friendly on Tuesday. The Blue Colts are using these games to prepare for the AFC U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2026, which will take place in May.
