Kangra gears up for monsoon, nodal officers to be appointed for disaster management

Dharamshala, June 10 (UNI) Kangra Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa has said that the district administration is fully alert ahead of the upcoming monsoon season and is making all necessary preparations to effectively tackle any disaster-related situation.
Chairing a pre-monsoon preparedness review meeting on Tuesday with officials of various departments at the NIC Video Conferencing Hall in the Deputy Commissioner's office, Bairwa said nodal officers would be appointed by all departments for disaster management duties during the monsoon period. Additional District Magistrate Shilpi Beakta and other departmental officers attended the meeting, while Sub-Divisional Magistrates joined through video conferencing.
The Deputy Commissioner directed departments concerned to ensure the cleaning of kuhls, drains and other water drainage systems before the onset of rains to prevent waterlogging and damage to roads. He also instructed the Public Works Department (PWD) to prepare a list of landslide-prone roads and vulnerable locations in advance.

Railway Board reiterates uniform implementation of healthcare rules for pensioners, UMID card holders
