Karan Singh leads Indian challenge at Karnataka Open

Bengaluru, May 10 (UNI) American top seed Keegan Smith will begin as the favourite at the Karnataka Open ATP Challenger 50 tournament, but India’s Karan Singh is set to spearhead the home challenge when the main draw action begins at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium here on Monday.
The tournament carries a total prize purse of USD 63,000, with the singles champion earning 50 ATP ranking points and USD 9,500 in prize money.
Sixth-seeded Karan will open his campaign against Japan’s Kokoro Isomura in one of the marquee first-round clashes involving Indian players.

Algeria manager Vladimir Petkovic says World Cup fate in own hands

Kansas (United States), June 17 (UNI) Algeria manager Vladimir Petkovic said his side was outclassed in a 3-0 World Cup defeat by Argentina on Tuesday and challenged his players to respond in their remaining group matches.
