Karnataka BJP chief slams Cong govt for awarding medal to suspended cop

Bengaluru, Aug 15 (UNI) Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Thursday expressed "shock and dismay" over the inclusion of suspended police constable Salim Pasha's name in the list of recipients of the prestigious Chief Minister's Medal awarded on Independence Day.
Vijayendra claimed that Pasha's suspension was a result of his involvement in criminal activities, including collusion with criminals, thefts, and leaking departmental documents. He alleged that the government's decision to award the medal to Pasha was a clear indication of its lack of concern for discipline and transparency in the police department.
"This is a shocking example of the degeneracy of the home department," he said.
