Bengaluru, Dec 16 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s comments on his tenure have ignited debate within the Karnataka Assembly and among political circles. Addressing questions on the duration of his leadership on Tuesday, Siddaramaiah stated, “I am the CM now… as long as the Congress high command wants me to be,” signaling both his commitment to the party and the conditional nature of his tenure.
The statement comes amid speculation over leadership plans and internal party dynamics in Karnataka. “We will abide by the high command decision. If they decide I should continue (as CM), I will continue. Ultimately, whatever the high command decides, I should accept it. Shivakumar should also accept it," Siddaramaiah said.
Opposition members sought clarification, questioning whether such remarks reflect uncertainty in governance and the state administration’s future direction.
