Kartik Aaryan–Johnny Depp selfie sends internet into frenzy

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan set social media ablaze after crossing paths with Hollywood icon Johnny Depp at the ongoing Red Sea International Film Festival.
Kartik took to Instagram to share the surprising moment, posting a photo of the duo and playfully captioning it: “Pirates of the Red Sea. JackSparrow x RoohBaba.”
The unexpected crossover instantly went viral, with fans flooding the comments in disbelief and excitement. One user wrote, “Noooo Wayy Wait A Freakin Minute,” while another gushed, “Captain Jack Sparrow and Rooh Baba together!!” A third exclaimed, “That is what the selfie of the year looks like.”
While his Rooh Baba persona continues to follow him globally, Kartik also opened up at the festival about initially turning down the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.
He revealed, “When the film first came to me, there was no story — just the idea of a sequel. I wasn’t keen. But Bhushan sir convinced me, we built it from scratch, and everything changed. Today kids everywhere call me Rooh Baba. I’m glad I said yes eventually.”
The second and third installments of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, led by Kartik, went on to become major career milestones, with the second film emerging as Bollywood’s biggest post-pandemic blockbuster.
His performance in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 even earned him the Best Actor (Male) honour. Up next, Kartik has a packed release slate featuring Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, Naagzilla, and a new project opposite Sreeleela.
