Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell reunite for 'Kennan & Kel Meet Frankenstein'

Los Angeles, Jan 21 (UNI) Saturday Night Live fame Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell are teaming once again, this time stepping into the world of horror comedy with "Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein", a new feature that will see the longtime collaborators return as both producers and stars.
Set to begin principal photography this summer, the project is being co-produced by Thompson's Artists for Artists and Range Media Partners. Inspired by the timeless Abbott and Costello monster capers, the film promises a knowing homage to vintage horror while infusing it with contemporary comic energy, reports DEADLINE.
Jonah Feingold (At Midnight, 31 Candles) is writing the script. Thompson and Mitchell are producing alongside John Ryan Jr., Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Carter Swan, with Will Hariton, Azim Spicer, and Monica Weber exec producing. Range Media is handling sales.
Thompson announced the new project this evening on Prime Video’s Good Sports. In a statement, he said, “Kel and I have always loved finding new ways to work together, and this project felt like the perfect mix of nostalgia, comedy, and something completely unexpected. We’re excited to bring a fresh take on a classic monster story and have some fun doing it.”
Said Mitchell, “Coming back together always feels natural, and this lets us tap into everything people love about our dynamic while trying something totally new. It’s funny, it’s scary, and it’s a great ride.”
Thompson and Mitchell first worked together on Nickelodeon’s All That before becoming defining figures of 1990s television through Kenan & Kel and Good Burger. Their most recent collaboration was Good Burger 2, released in 2023, making Kenan & Kel Meet Frankenstein another nostalgic yet inventive chapter in their shared legacy.
