Kerala ADM Suicide : Court grants bail to CPI(M) leader Divya

Kannur, Nov 8 (UNI) The Principal District and Sessions court on Friday granted bail to former District Panchayat President and CPI(M) leader P P Divya, who was arrested by Special Investigation Team (SIT) on October 29, in connection with allegedly abetting the suicide of former Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu of Kannur, on October 15.
Judge K T Nissar Ahammed granted bail to her, after she was in judicial custody at Kannur women's jail for 11 days, by imposing certain conditions, including to appear before the investigating officer on every Monday, two solvent sureties and should not leave the Kannur district.
The court heard the bail plea of Divya on November 5 and reserved the verdict, for Friday. The court mainly considered that she is a woman while granting her bail.

AP: Most wanted Maoist Hidma among 6 killed in encounter, weapons seized

Paderu, Nov 18 (UNI) The Maoists suffered a major blow on Tuesday as their Most wanted top leader Madvi Hidma alias Santhosh was among the six extremists killed in a fierce encounter at Maredumilli village in a dense forest area of the Eastern Ghats in Andhra Pradesh.
Hidma was carrying a cash reward of rupees one crore on his head and earned notoriety for committing major offences including killing of police personnel and political leaders. Hidma, who also operated as the self-styled Liberation Guerilla commander, had remained elusive for the past 25 years.
