Kerala bans sale of substandard drug batches after quality tests

Thiruvananthapuram, June 9 (UNI) The Kerala Drugs Control Department has prohibited the sale and distribution of several batches of medicines and cosmetic products across the state after they were found to be substandard during quality testing conducted at state drug testing laboratories in May.
State Drugs Controller Dr. M.N. Sujith Kumar said the affected products failed to meet prescribed quality standards and have therefore been banned from sale and distribution in Kerala.
He directed traders, distributors, pharmacies and hospitals holding stocks of the identified batches to immediately return them to their suppliers and report the details to the respective District Drugs Control Authorities.
