Kerala Governor inaugurates SPARSH Outreach: Rs 40 lakh disbursed to defence pensioners

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 16 (UNI) In a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening welfare measures for India’s defence pensioners, Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar inaugurated the SPARSH Outreach Programme at the Cariappa Auditorium, Pangode Military Station, here today.
The event, organized under the aegis of the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA), Chennai, witnessed the disbursement of pension arrears amounting to Rs 40 lakh to five defence pensioners and beneficiaries.
The ceremony was attended by Raj Kumar Arora, IDAS, Controller General of Defence Accounts, T. Jayaseelan, IDAS, Controller of Defence Accounts, Chennai, and Col Maheswar Singh Jamwal, Officiating Station Commander, Trivandrum.

Telangana govt to celebrate 'Koti Deepotsavam' as state festival from next year

Hyderabad, Nov 8 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy tonight announced that the "Koti Deepotsavam” programme organized during the auspicious ‘Karthika Masam' will be celebrated as the state festival from next year.
The Chief Minister also said that the state government will write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting to announce the Koti Deepotsavam as a national festival and accord a national recognition to the big spiritual event.
